Introduction

Lleida statistics is a compendium of statistical information concerning the municipal area, with some references to the province in terms of unemployment, price indexes and imports and exports, which allows us to identify and value the characteristics of the city from a social, economic and cultural perspective; this will contribute to an increase in the utility of the website for those people who are interested in visiting it.

Its spirit is none other than to become a permanent reference point for all those institutions, organizations, professional people and companies who wish to get to know the economic and social reality of the city, and at the same time become a meeting point where they can ask for new information or modifications of that which already exists.

The statistical information it contains is structured around three large thematic blocks. The first, formed by chapters I and II, dedicated to territory and population, aims to offer a general vision of meteorological conditions, environmental indicators and population evolution. The second large block, chapter III, includes the most relevant economic data about the city. Finally, a third block, formed by chapters IV to VI, where information regarding housing, transport, communication services for the community and culture are to be found.

It should be pointed out that the information sections which appear in the different chapters do not cover all the aspects of the reality of the city, but constitute a good starting point which will have to be analyzed and amplified in successive modifications. Lleida statistics is, therefore, an open tool.
